General Price List

The goods and services shown here are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. (However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead.) If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the Statement we provide, describing the funeral goods and services you selected.

Professional Services

Basic Services of Funeral Director and Staff	$1195.00	Our charge includes consultation with the family or responsible party; staff and facilities to respond to initial requests for service; coordinating service plans with cemetery, crematory and/or other parties involved in the final disposition of the deceased; securing official documents and sheltering of the deceased. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials and forwarding or receiving remains.)
Embalming	$595.00	Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.

A mileage fee of $2.50 per loaded mile will be added to the charge listed for each item of motor equipment used beyond our local service area -- within a twenty-five (25) mile radius of Madison County.

Custom Funeral Arrangements

As an alternative to itemized service selection for the funeral, customers may choose a Custom Funeral Arrangement. The option provides a selection of goods and services without substitution or deletion. Other items may be included upon request at additional cost. When compared to itemized selection, the Custom Funeral Arrangement offers savings to the purchaser.

The following price quotations are provided at this time to assist you during the consideration of funeral arrangements. Further explanation is available upon request.

Custom Funeral Arrangement Price List

The Traditional Service: $3,495.00

This custom arrangement provides:

Complete preparation, care, and custody of deceased.
Use of facilities and staff for one-day visitation.
Use of facilities and staff for ceremony, or equipment and additional staff required for off-premise services.
Attention to all details including: filing of forms with governmental offices, preparation of obituary notices, handling of floral tributes, and after-care consultation.
All local transportation: including hearse, family sedan, flower car.
A visitor's register, up to 100 printed memorial folders, and acknowledgement cards.

The purchase of a casket outer burial container, state sales tax, and cash advancements is additional.

The Cremation Service: $3,395.00

This custom arrangement provides:

Complete preparation, care, and custody of deceased.
Use of facilities for same-day visitation and ceremony.
Attention to all details including: staff supervision and direction of visitation and ceremony, handling of floral tributes, preparation of obituary notices, and after-care consultation.
All local transportation including: removal, transfer to crematory, flower car.
A visitor's register, up to 100 printed memorial folders, and acknowledgement cards.

The purchase of a casket, urn, state sales tax, and cash advancements is additional.

Graveside Service: $3,295.00

This custom arrangement provides:

Complete preparation, care, and custody of deceased.
Use of facilities for same-day visitation and ceremony.
Use of equipment and staff for graveside service.
Attention to all details including: staff supervision and direction of visitation and ceremony, handling of floral tributes, preparation of obituary notices, and after-care consultation.
All local transportation including: hearse, family sedan, flower car.
A visitor's register, up to 100 printed memorial folders, and acknowledgement cards.

Memorial Service: $3,095.00

This custom arrangement provides:

Complete preparation, care, and custody of deceased.
Use of facilities for same-day visitation and ceremony.
Burial or cremation prior to memorial service or remains not present for memorial service.
Use of equipment and staff for graveside service.
Attention to all details including: staff supervision and direction of visitation and ceremony, handling of floral tributes, preparation of obituary notices, and after-care consultation.
All local transportation including: hearse, family sedan, flower car.
A visitor's register, up to 100 printed memorial folders, and acknowledgement cards.

The purchase of a casket, urn, state sales tax, and cash advancements is additional.

Guilkey Funeral Home Payment Options

For your convenience, several payment options are offered for the purchase of funeral goods and services:

Customary Terms: Cash payment due within thirty (30) days of purchase with no finance charge. Thereafter, a charge of 1.5% per month (annual percentage rate of 18%) will be applied to the unpaid balance.

Alternative I: Bank-financed installment plans may be arranged through Guilkey Funeral Home for 12, 24, or 36 months. The finance charge is based on current bank rates with early payoff provisions and penalties in the event of default.
